Her parents named her after the famous Tejano singer Selena Quintanilla-Perez. She started her career early in a kid’s show Barney and Friends.

Selena’s father’s name was Ricardo Joel Gomez, and her mother was Amanda Dawn Mandy Cornett. Her mother worked as an amateur actress in television.

She portrayed the character of Giana in that show and appeared in thirteen shows until 2004.

While working on Barney and friends, Selena appeared on a cameo role on Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over (2003) and the made-for-television film WalkerTexas Ranger: Trial by Fire (2005). Also, in 2006, she starred in the Disney Channel series ‘The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.’

In 2007, Selena appeared as a rock star in another Disney hit series, ‘Hannah Montana.’ She also appeared on other Disney series named ‘Arwin!’ and ‘Steve Sanchez.’
