Ariana Grande, full name Ariana Grande-Butera, was born on 26 June 1993, Boca Raton, Florida, in the United States. She is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She started her career in early 2010 and became one of the most successful in her time.

Her father is Edward Butera, and her mother’s name is Joan Grande. Edward Butera worked as a graphic design firm owner in Boca Raton. Joan Grande worked as the CEO of Hose-McCann Communications, a communications and safety equipment manufacturer.

Ariana’s older half-brother, Frankie Grande, works as an entertainer and producer. She has Italian ancestry. Her family moved to Florida from New York before her birth. However, her parents separated when she was eight or nine years old.

Growing up, Ariana finished her high school non-traditionally. She did not go to college. 

She went to Pine Crest School and later North Broward Preparatory. Although, she pursued her career from an early age.

Early Career

Ariana started singing and acting at a very young age. However, she started her acting career, namely ‘Beauty and The Beast‘ and ‘The Wizard of Oz. Also, she sang on national television singing ‘The Star-Spangled Banner.’

After she moved to Florida, she desired to record an R&B album. However, due to her young age, the managers of record labels didn’t take her seriously.

Ariana played a supporting role in the musical ’13. The musical took place at the Broadway theatre.

She got her most significant break in 2009, as she got the chance to play Cat Valentine’s role in the Nickelodeon sitcom’ Victorious.’

In 2010, she became a part of the musical ‘Cuba Libre‘ Produced by Desmond Child. She took a break from acting the same year and improved her singing skills. 

In 2011, her single ‘Give It Up’ from the ‘Victorious’ soundtrack got released. Her singing got the attention of many label executives.

Soon after that, Ariana signed a contract to record her first single ‘Put your Hearts Out’ with “Republic Label.

Also, in 2011, she dubbed for animated series ‘Winx Club‘ for thirteen episodes. She also became the voice of the lead in ‘Snowflake, The White Gorilla’ animated movie.

She released her first album’ Yours Truly‘ in 2013. Within a month, the album secured a place in the ‘Billboard 200’ chart.

In 2013, Ariana’s EP’ Christmas Kisses‘ was released. Even, her television film ‘Swindle‘ aired on Nickelodeon around that time.

Her second album, “My Everything,” released in 2014, gathered much appreciation and took the top spot in the “Billboard 200. The track, titled “Problem,” is featured by renowned Australian rapper Iggy Azalea.

In 2015, she returned to acting through a comedy horror series ‘Scream Queens‘ aired on the ‘Fox Channel.’ She also released her third album ‘Dangerous Woman‘ that year.

Ariana appeared in a cameo role in Ben Stiller’s comedy film ‘Zoolander 2‘ in 2016. Also, she collaborated in another animation film named ‘Sing.’
